School holiday program a roaring success!

The holidays may be all over but the verdict is in and the recent winter holiday program was among one of the best yet according to those who’s views matter most – families and children.
“Always a highlight among the community, this year’s calendar of events had a number of activities targeting the 12-24yrs age group though attendance was high from young children to teenagers,” said Acting Community Development Officer, Charlotte Forester.
“We had an action-packed program and the community seemed to get plenty from it,” said Charlotte.
“It was great to see such a good attendance at both of the events and judging from the surveys completed we hope to get them back again in the future,” Miss Forester said.
“It wouldn’t be possible without the support from the NSW Government Regional Youth Holiday Break Funding initiative.”
Events included in the widely popular holiday calendar included Inflatable Day at Cowra PCYC during week one of the holidays which also included Laser Tag and Bubble Soccer. The events have been so well received that there is a push for more regular days like Inflatable Day every holiday period.
“Many of the children had a blast and Inflatable Day was a massive hit,” said Miss Forester. In addition to this, another free Cowra school holiday event was also held on July 14 called Glow Roller Disco which was sold out well in advance and proved there is a big appetite for indoor school activities especially during the colder winter months.
“The Glow Roller Disco was huge and we were overwhelmed with interest,” said Charlotte. “Everyone was extremely excited and many have commented how much they love that we have organised events for the children.”
Ends.
