Club Cowra came alive on Thursday, July 27, 2023, as representatives from various sports bodies across Cowra Shire gathered for the highly anticipated Cowra Sport and Recreation Network Night. Organised by Cowra Shire Council, the event proved to be a resounding success, drawing an overwhelming turnout from the local sporting community.

With a strong focus on collaboration and knowledge-sharing, the Cowra Sport and Recreation Network Night facilitated a vibrant exchange of ideas and resources that will undoubtedly drive positive impacts throughout the shire's sports landscape. The attendees were enthralled by the insightful discussions, practical hints and tips, and valuable training that ensued throughout the evening.

Throughout the night, the power of sharing knowledge and resources became evident as representatives from different sports bodies discovered common challenges and solutions. “Collaborative initiatives from the event will enable clubs to pool resources, improve infrastructure, support each other and explore novel strategies for enhancing participation and spectator experience in local sports events,” said Cowra Shire Councillor Cheryl Downing.

The Cowra Sport and Recreation Network Night boasted an impressive line-up of guest speakers including Cricket NSW’s Angus Norton. From the Office for Regional Youth, distinguished speakers shared insights into empowering youth engagement in sports, emphasizing its positive impact on the community. Additionally, representatives from the Office of Sport delivered informative talks on funding opportunities, grant applications, and best practices for achieving sustainable growth in sports organisations.

The event provided an invaluable platform for local sports bodies to strengthen ties, build bridges, and forge partnerships that will lead to a more integrated and prosperous sporting community in Cowra Shire.
