Cowra Community Grants applications closing soon

The seventeenth round of Cowra Shire Council's Community Grants Program closes on August 31st. Applicants are able to apply for grants falling under five categories including building and facility development, arts and culture, small capital equipment, sport and recreation as well as new community events.

The Cowra Shire Council twice-yearly Community Grants Program provides funding to a maximum value of $3000 per financial year to local not-for-profit, incorporated primarily volunteer-run based community groups within the Cowra Shire. Now in its seventeenth round, Council have provided community groups with funding for well over 300 projects in the eight years since the programs commencement in August 2015 totalling over $363,983.

“The Cowra Council run Community Grants Program has been a wonderful success for a variety of groups and organisations across the Shire,” said Mayor of Cowra, Cr Bill West.

“The Cowra Masonic Hall Ltd is a good example of the success of this program. Recently, they were able to gain funding to the tune of $2000 to replace some sets of doors to their hall,” said Bill.

“Such a development not only benefits their organisation but also numerous other groups across the Shire that utilise this space including Men’s Probus and various exercise classes,” he said.

Funding deadline is 31 August so don’t wait any longer! Application forms and guidelines are available for download on the Council’s website at www.cowracouncil.com.au and at Councils’ front desk at 116 Kendal St, Cowra.
