Cowra Community Grants Program now open
Published on 28 July 2023
The seventeenth round of Cowra Shire Council's Community Grants Program opens on August 1st. Applicants are able to apply for grants falling under four categories including building and facility development, arts and culture, small capital equipment, sport and recreation as well as new community events.
The Cowra Shire Council twice-yearly Community Grants Program provides funding to a maximum value of $3000 per financial year to local not-for-profit and primarily volunteer-run based community groups within the Cowra Shire. Now in its seventeenth round, Council have provided community groups with funding for well over 300 projects in the eight years since the programs commencement in August 2015 totalling over $363,983.
“Cowra Shire Council has supported many worthwhile groups and projects through the grants program over the past eight years, allowing for community organisations to undertake improvements to infrastructure and buildings and providing community groups the opportunity to update their equipment and resources,” said Mayor of Cowra, Cr Bill West.
The guidelines and criteria remain the same this round, with Council looking for community groups who are incorporated, not-for-profit, primarily volunteer-run and based within the Cowra Shire with projects that directly benefit the local community.
Application forms and guidelines are available at Council’s website: www.cowracouncil.com.au and at Councils’ front desk at 116 Kendal St, Cowra.
