Following notification from Central Tablelands Water (CTW), Cowra Council resolved at their June meeting to impose CTW level 3 water restrictions on water consumers in the Gooloogong area, with the restrictions to be effective from 1 July 2019.
Cowra Council receives bulk water from CTW under a Bulk and Emergency Water Supply Agreement, which has been in place for a number of years.
Under the terms of that agreement, if CTW imposes water restrictions on consumers serviced by its system, Cowra Council is obliged to impose similar restrictions upon consumers serviced with water purchased under the agreement.
CTW have advised that they will continue to closely monitor the inflows into Lake Rowlands and long term rainfall forecasts of the Bureau of Meteorology before implementing and advising of any future changes to the restriction level.
A table explaining the CTW level 3 restrictions is available here.
